Annette R. Stein, age 88 of Cannon Falls and formerly Hampton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Deer Crest Senior Living in Red Wing on Wednesday evening, December 10, 2025.

Annette Rose, the daughter of Nicholas and Frances (Bauer) Langenfeld, was born on July 21, 1937, in Hastings. Following her graduation from Villa Maria in Frontenac, Annette was united in marriage to Nicholas P. "Nick" Stein at St. Boniface Catholic Church on November 3, 1956. Together, they raised their family in Hampton where Annette was a dedicated homemaker and also helped Nick with all aspects of the farm. Annette's life was also full of joy and many cherished memories for her involvement of teaching sewing to many 4-H members. Over the years, Annette became an accomplished seamstress who truly enjoyed sharing her gifts to countless families and friends, especially the chances to hem and alter clothing for many people in the area, and to craft nearly 1,000 memory bears made from clothing of those who passed away. Annette also became a detailed China doll painter who made countless dolls. She never missed the chance to host the annual Fourth of July barbeque at the farm where all would gather and enjoy traditions together. She was a longtime member of St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton where she and Nick were members of many groups over the years. In retirement, she and Nick also enjoyed taking bus trips around the country, and especially enjoyed visiting Branson. Most of all, Annette simply cherished time spent with her loving family, grandchildren and friends. She will forever be a light in the lives ofher loved one's memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Nick M.; husband, Nick P.; sister, Mary Ellen Gerlach; her nieces, Nancy Langenfeld and Sandy Gerlach; and by her nephew, Billy Sitko.

Annette is survived by her children, Linda (Dave) Weinhandl, Dale (Arlene) Stein, and Sharon (Leroy) Bauer; daughter-in-law, Lori Stein; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; siblings, Louie (Judy) Langenfeld, Luella (Joseph) Stein, Phyllis (Bud) Blaeser, Frances Sitko, and Danny (Jan) Langenfeld; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, with Father Michael Tix officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
