Anna Sieben, age 31, of Hastings, passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2021. “Know Thyself” was Anna’s chosen script forever, placed just above her heart. It is exactly how she lived each day… from her heart as her genuine self. Her living, being heart belonged to Afton, her beautiful son and partner in everything. She dedicated her life to being an example for him and others of compassion, empathy, dedication and sincere selflessness. Her family was truly everything to Anna. She celebrated triumphs and comforted sadness, always knowing just what to say- she could read and feel peoples’ souls. She also had fierce dedication to the tribe of friends who surrounded her, each of them family to her, each one having a special place in her heart as she forever has a place in all of ours. She would always defend and protect “her people” always. The individuals Anna cared for while working in an assisted living facility also embraced her as one of their own just as she found a piece of home with each of them. They were all comforted by her smile but she was equally inspired and touched by their stories. When she joined the Red Cross, she was even that much more motivated by giving, and inspiring others to give, to others. She excelled at her position, so much so that her passion resulted in many promotions- her kindness and love for all was unsurpassed. Our worlds have lost a living angel… May her spirit and example guide us always, for the world will be a better place if we all lived as Anna did. In her spirit of giving and passion for saving the lives of others, we ask you all to consider being blood donors. Please contact the Red Cross and honor Anna by giving! Anna was preceded in death by her grandpa, Henri Tessier; and grandmother, Lucille Sieben. She is survived by her son, Afton Tessier; parents, Mark & Mary Phillips; siblings, Stephanie (Jarek) Fischer, Heather Bell, Daisy Sieben and Joe Sieben; grandparents, Anna "Missy" Tessier; Al and Betty Lou Sieben; Barry and Amy Phillips; many other relatives and friends.
