Carlson, Anna J. (nee Smetana) age 87, of Colonial Acres in Golden Valley, formerly of So. Mpls. Preceded in death by husband, Ralph S., and 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Survived by daughters, Carol (David) Fredlund and Barbara (David) Lehman; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Hill, Anne (Andrew Paul) Hill, Katherine (Jim) Shelledy, and Elizabeth (Roger) Olsen; 5 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ann worked 20 years for Mpls General Hospital, retiring as head of the payroll dept. She was an avid bowler, bridge player, and enjoyed her lake home in Park Rapids. Ann also was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, serving as the treasurer for many years, was active in Toastmistress’, past-president of her AARP chapter, and loved to travel with her family. A special thank you to the caring staff at Colonial Acres. Services are Wednesday at 11 am in El Milagro (St. Lukes) Church, 38th St and 17th Ave So, with her visitation Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 pm in Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave So. Interment Lakewood. Memorials to American Stroke Assoc. or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
