Anita F. "Fran" Schoen

Anita Frances “Fran” Schoen, age 86 of Minneapolis and formerly of Hastings, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2022. Fran, the daughter of Harlan and Mary Frances Link was born in Waukon, Iowa on November 11th, 1935. Fran grew up in Waukon, Iowa, graduated from The College of St. Theresa in Winona and then moved to Hastings where she spent most of her adult life. Fran had a variety of jobs over her life starting out as a school teacher and ending as an Education Manager for JCAPHO where she worked for many years. But there is no doubt that the job she was most passionate about was that of being a Mom and she was a truly exceptional Mom. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret, Kay, Alice, Mary Lou, Elaine and Liz, and many of her most dear lifelong friends and is survived by sister Bobbee Dowdal, children Sam (Stephanie) Schoen, Casey (Mary) Schoen and Molly Schoen and grandchildren Peyton, Sawyer, Ellery, Bennett and Celia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30th 1:00 p.m. at Hastings Golf Club located at 2015 Westview Drive with a celebration of life immediately following until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or memorials, Fran had requested that donations be made to your favorite charity in her honor. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
