Angela M. Savoie, age 95 of Hastings, formerly of California, died peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings. Angela Marie was born May 29, 1924 in Faribault, MN to Edward Joseph and Marie E. (Marcotte) Savoie. Angela attended grade school in Hastings and attended Hastings High School. She graduated from Villa Maria Academy in Frontenac. In 1946 she went to Mobile, Alabama to work with the Bishop in various roles. In 1947 Angie followed her vocation to the consecrated life in a cloistered community of Poor Clare’s in Santa Barbara, California. Angela left the convent after 20 years to pursue a career in nursing. She attended nurses training as an RN at Riverside, CA. She then worked at the Riverside Hospital in various capacities for the next 25 years. She lived at Sierra Dawn senior development for many years, helping others with daily Mass. Angela was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Ulrich Savoie, Mary Schoen, Bernadette Gundy, Muriel Heisler, Matthew Savoie. She is survived brothers Edward (Mary K.) Savoie of Hastings, Phil (Jean) Savoie of Shoreview, and Paul (Myrna Cochran) Savoie of Washington. Funeral Mass celebrated by Fr. Paul Kubista, will be Monday, September 9th at 9:30 am at Regina Chapel in Hastings with a gathering 1/2 hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery in Hastings.
