Alice Zellmer Healey, age 87, of Hastings, died peacefully on September 3, 2015 at the Regina Senior Living Center in Hastings.Alice, the daughter of Herman W. and Catherine (Balfe) Zellmer, was born on July 16, 1928 in Waterville, MN. She attended St. Canice Catholic Grade School in Kilkenny, MN and graduated from Montgomery High School, Montgomery, MN. Alice was united in marriage to Bernard J. Healey on December 28, 1948 at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. She worked in various offices during her lifetime, retiring twice, first from United Telephone Company in Hastings and later from Frontier Telephone Company in Burnsville. She volunteered for many years in the gift shop at Regina Hospital, was a member of the funeral choir at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and was a weekly Pray-er for Perpetual Adoration at the chapel each Monday.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard and three siblings, Anna Byrne, Mae Mach and Raymond Zellmer.Alice is survived by her sisters-in-law, Bonnie Zellmer of Lincoln, NE, Bernice Maxa of New Prague, MN, Grace Healey of Greensboro, GA; her brother-in-law Gordon (Karen) Healey of Glencoe, MN; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Canice Catholic Church, 183 Maple Street, Kilkenny, MN, with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Kilkenny, MN.Visitation will be held from 5:00 7:00 PM on Friday, September 11 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and also one hour prior to Mass at Church.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Canice Church Roof Fund, 183 Maple Street, Kilkenny, MN 56052.
