Agnes R. Doffing

Agnes R. Doffing, age 95, of Hastings died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Regina Assisted Living. Agnes Rose was born near Hastings on November 18, 1921 to Nicholas and Margaret (Meier) Bauer. She attended a small rural school near Hastings. Agnes married Gerald Doffing April 25, 1944 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Hastings. They enjoyed 71 years of marriage before Jerry passed away on February 14, 2016. Agnes was a 32 year employee for 3M at the Cottage Grove Chemolite Plant. She was a strong woman of faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald, brothers Christ, Fred, Frank, George, Greg and Martin Bauer; her sisters Elizabeth Gergen, Gertrude Becker, and Martha Schweich; also by her grandson Greg Doffing. Agnes is survived by a son Richard (Jean) Doffing; grandchildren Jerry Doffing and Carrie Ann Elder; great grandchildren Adam and Chet; brothers Harold Bauer and Edward (Lorene) Bauer; and a special niece Jeanne (Loren) Schumann; as well as many other relatives and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th Street West, Hastings. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00-11:00 AM. Interment will be at the parish cemetery. Casket bearers are Gordy Bauer, Wayne Bauer, Bill Bauer, Lenny Schweich, Ed (Bud) Bauer Jr. Joe Bauer.
