Agnes Elizabeth Rother

Agnes E. Rother, age 92, of Hastings, died on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Regina Medical Center in Hastings. Agnes Elizabeth, the daughter of Anton and Katherine (Kiemen) Loesch, was born on September 26, 1922 in Vermillion. On May 26, 1943, she was united in marriage to Gregory John Rother in Vermillion. Agnes was an accomplished homemaker and enjoyed watching baseball, playing cards, cross stitching, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her siblings, Pauline Swanson, Peter Loesch and Leo Loesch. Agnes is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gregory Rother of Hastings; her children, Gary Rother, Janice (Steven) Benkoske, Ron (Lynnette) Rother, Dennis (Patricia) Rother, Debora (Larry) Johnson, and Steven (Diane) Rother; her 12 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings. Visitation will be held at church for one hour prior to the Mass. Private family interment will be held at the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Agnes� family request memorials be made to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Playground Fund or to the donor�s choice in her memory.
