Abbey Lynn Rother

Abbey Lynn Rother, age 30 of Hastings, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 surrounded by family. Abbey was born September 27, 1984 in Hastings to Gary and Kristin (Kuhn) Rother. She was a 2004 graduate of Hastings High School and attended Lifeworks Services. Abbey participated in Special Olympics and loved going to the family cabin and boating. She also enjoyed bowling, movies and music, as well as collecting T-shirts. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Edward Rother and grandmother Audrey Kuhn. Abbey is survived by her parents Gary and Kris Rother of Hastings; brothers Adam Rother (Marissa Grimsrud)of Minneapolis and Michael Rother (Lisa Mattson) of Hastings; paternal grandmother Mary Rother and maternal grandfather James Kuhn, both of Hastings; also several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings, with Fr. Thomas McKenzie officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, August 30 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and also one hour prior to the Monday service at church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Toots Schmitz, Kim Klein, Kelli Dube, Deb Buckingham, Lynda Peine, Renee Lucking, Linda Aarthun, and Terri Schoenwald. Honorary pallbearers are Linda Kieffer as well as Lifeworks and Hastings Sharks friends.
