William "Willie" Hicks

William �Willie� Hicks, age 74, of Hastings, died March 31, 2009, at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond, WI. William was born April 22, 1934 in Hastings to Clarence and Neoma (Estes) Hicks. He served in the Navy from 1952-1956. William married Margaret King on November 22, 1956 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Hastings. He worked in maintenance for the Hastings School District prior to his retirement. William was a life member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Charles and James. William is survived by his wife, Maggie of Hastings; sons, Will Jr. of Eagan, Robert (Julie) of Hastings, Mark of Casper, WY, James (Roberta) of Brighton, CO, Timothy (Sonia) of Oak Harbor, WA, Dean (Sharon) and Daniel (Karen) all of Hastings; grandchildren, Alex, Grant, Sam, John, Theresa, Courtney, Joe, Matthew, Elliott, Jamie, and Thomas; siblings, Florence Rischette, Barbara Bowers, Ramona Ginn, Clarence Jr., Marvin, Richard, David, Judy Boecker, and Gerald; aunt, Peggy Illa; also many other relatives and friends. The funeral service, officiated by Gordon Gathright will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 11:00 AM at CATURIA-SMIDT FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred.
