William M. Niederkorn

William �Bob� Niederkorn, age 96, of Hastings died Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehab Community in Prescott, WI. Bob was born July 6, 1917 in Devil�s Lake, ND to William and Irene (Hulet) Niederkorn. He was a graduate of Hastings High School, class of 1936 and also was a graduate of Northwestern Business College. He served in both the Army National Guard during WWII and the US Air Force in Korea. Bob married Lenore Peterson on November 14, 1947 and had owned a Hastings music and appliance store, �Bob�s Music� - also providing Hastings License Renewals. A lifetime member of the Hastings Country Club, Bob was also their former manager for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lenore; four sisters and long-time companion Myra Swanson.Bob is survived by his daughters Jean Foster of Hastings and Joanie McIntyre of Cottage Grove; granddaughters Vanessa Hendrickson, Jade Hewlett, Amber Hendrickson and Claudia McIntyre; sisters Carol Hopf and Janice Niederkorn, both of Hastings and Helen Conzemius. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
