Wilbur Arthur Leibbrand

Dr. Wilbur A. Leibbrand, DVM, age 94, of Hastings, passed away on July 24, 2018. Wilbur graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1953 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Over the course of his career, he worked in private practice (Little Falls and Hastings, MN), for the USDA (Minneapolis and Kearney, NE), and as a college Professor at the U of M Waseca. He loved fishing, hunting (grouse were his favorite) and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elsie Leibbrand; grandson, Keenan McAlees. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor; children, Douglas (Launa) Leibbrand, Richard (Dana) Leibbrand, Kathy (Terry) Swanson, David (Sindy) Leibbrand; grandchildren, Andrew, Corey, Samuel, Willem, Michael and Mathew Leibbrand, Jay and Jaclynn Swanson; step-grandchildren, Pat, Pete and Paul Swanson, and Whitney Petrie; and 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Leibbrand and Amy Juni; many other loving relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held Monday (7/30) at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection United Methodist Church of Hastings, 615 15th St. W., Hastings. A visitation will be held Sunday (7/29) from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment, Spirit Hill Cemetery, Jordan, MN. The Wise Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
