Wendell L Snider

Wendell L. Snider, age 89, of Hastings, passed away at home September 6, 2013. He was born in Williams, Iowa to Zorah and Rose Snider on February 22, 1924. Wendell married Leona Minard on May 16, 1954 in Forest Lake. He served in the US Navy during WWII, surviving a Kamikaze attack Feb. 21, 1944. He later retired from the US Air Force after 21 of service. Wendell is preceded in death by his wife, Leona; son, Kerry; grandson, Jonathon; siblings, Gilbert; Glenn; Marion; Wayne; Jack; and Lois. He is survived by his children, Scott (Patty); Kirk (Gloria); Brad; Cory (Jackie); Melissa (Billy); and Paul (Tiffany); grandchildren, Brady; Nick; River; Marina; Drake; Tucker; Duncan; Christopher; Phillip; and Madeline; and great granddaughter, Aleena. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday (9/9) at 7:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. A gathering will be held two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Tuesday (9/10) at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
