Wayne Townsend Stevens

Wayne T. Stevens, age 86, of Hastings, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the V.A.M.C. in Minneapolis. Wayne was born January 12, 1922 in Sioux City, Iowa to Earl and Isabelle (Knudson) Stevens. He served in the Navy during WWII in the SEABEES, and was a graduate of Iowa State. Waynemarried Shirle Brechwald on June 12, 1948 in Holstein, IA. He had worked at various architectural firms and then for the State of Minnesota, where he retired from the building code division. Wayne was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded by his parents. Wayne is survived by his wife Shirle; five children Jody (Rick) Loseth of Willmar, George (Madelyne) Stevens of Denver, CO, Laurie Stevens of Rush City, Amy (Chris) Gerding of Roanoke, IN, and Thomas Stevens of West St. Paul; also 9 grandchildren . The funeral service for Wayne Stevens will be heldat 11:00 A.M.Monday, March 31st at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, with a visitation held one hour prior to the service.
