Viola L. Adams

Viola L. Adams, age 85 died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the White Pines Assisted Living Facility in Cottage Grove, MN. Vi was born on October 24, 1927 to William and Edith Weaver. She was the third-born of six children and grew up in Faribault, MN, and graduated high school there. After attending dental school, Vi worked as a dental assistant. She and her husband, Cyril later owned a bank in Nerstrand. Vi sold insurance at the bank after passing her insurance test on the first try! She had many hobbies from years ago, including sewing and knitting, but one of her favorite pastimes was gardening. She could always be found working in her garden the best looking garden in town! At one time, she was a sheep farmer, too. As of late, her hobbies had included music, Bingo, "500", outings, word finds and crossword puzzles. She liked dogs, but Vi especially loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching the "Price is Right" and spoke of once being a contestant. Vis travels included trips to Arizona and South Dakota, as well as Las Vegas, NV, Nashville, TN, and Chicago, IL. Viola has three children - Robert, Marie and David; and eight grandchildren who survive her. A Memorial Service forViola,officiated by Rev. Frank Van De Steeg and Rev. Bob Langenfeld will be held 2 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 615 Vermillion Street, Hastings. A one hour gathering will be held at the church prior to the service.
