Verner James Samuelson

Verner James Samuelson, age 79, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Woodlyn Heights Care Center, Inver Grove Heights, MN. He was born November 24, 1928 at Bruno, MN where he was also baptized. He had served in the U.S. Army and received his honorable discharge in 1952. Verner married Shirley Erickson in June of 1953 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Prescott, WI. They lived in Hastings, MN and were members of St. John�s Ev. Lutheran Church. Hewas retired from the St. Paul Public Works after 26 years. Verner is survived by his wife Shirley of Woodlyn Heights Care Center; daughter Diane Samuelson of St. Paul; sisters-in-law Donna Christiansen of Red Wing and Dorothy (Jim) Van Voorhis of Granger, IN; 4 nephews and 2 nieces. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Percy J. Damrow will be held at 11am Thursday, February 28, 2008 at ST. JOHN�S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 202 W. 8th St., Hastings. The private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
