Val L. Jarchow

Valgene L. Jarchow, age 85 of Hastings died March 4, 2014 at the Regina Transitional Care, Hastings. Val was born November 21, 1928 to Morrill and Beulah (Boles) Jarchow in Hastings. He was a Hastings High School graduate, class of 1946 and married Muriel Holliday on August 26, 1950 at the Hamline Methodist Church in St. Paul. Val was former owner of Pet Ranch of America and his hobbies included golf, bowling, wood-working, fishing, boating and he especially loved dogs and ice cream! He was preceded in death by his parents and son Tom. Val is survived by his wife Muriel �Murt�; children Deb (Mike) Sherry of Amery, WI, Sandy (Steven) Loosbrock of Eagan and Richard Jarchow of Hastings; grandchildren Brian (Lindsay) Sherry, Kelly Nelson, Peter (Jenny) Loosbrock, Jill (Tommy Stenzel) Loosbrock, Tyler (Amber) Jarchow, Ashley (Jamie) Tri and Kelli Jo (Charles) Robinson; also seven great grandchildren. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Dr. April Davis Campbell will be held10 AM Monday, March 10 at First Presbyterian Church, 602 Vermillion St. in Hastings. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM Sunday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St, Hastings and one hour prior to the service at church. Private interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Pallbearers are Val�s grandchildren.
