Tyler Nicholas Kavitz was born 4/15/02 and passed away suddenly 4/29/21. He was born in Hastings, MN to Nicholas Kavitz and Rebecca Maloney. Tyler was loved beyond measure by his family, friends, and anyone he happened to meet. Tyler attended school in Hastings, and most recently at DCALS. Laughing and joking was second nature to Tyler! He was the king of comebacks. He was a huge dinosaur and Spiderman fan when he was younger, and then anything Star Wars and comic related became a big part of his life. He loved to just be with his friends, loved his MN Vikings, and fishing with his dad. Tyler and his mom shared many deep talks about life and his goals. He was always ready to help his grandparents with chores (and the meal together than followed!). He was a video game aficionado, and loved to learn about American history, especially WWII. Tyler is preceded in death by his Grandpa Rooney, Grandma and Grandpa Schaefer, and his big Uncle Mike Kuzma. Tyler is survived by a large and extended family, including his father, Nicholas Kavitz; mother, Rebecca (David) Maloney; sisters, Eleanor Kavitz and Haylee Maloney; grandparents, Thomas Kavitz, Pam (Dave) Bohlken, Paul and Laurie Ollmann, Marlene Bond, Lucy Francis and Michael Maloney; aunts, Amanda (Edwin) Forbes, Cassandra (Daniel) Anderson, Ashley Boesche, Trisha Erickson; and many more family members. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 5 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St. in Hastings. In lieu of gifts, the family requests donations be made to the MN Adult & Teen Challenge to help others in need.
