Thomas G. Metzger

Thomas G. Metzger, age 74 of Hastings passed away at his home April 16, 2009. He was born on October 17, 1934 to George & Ferne Metzger in Hastings. He was in the US Marine Corps from 1954 – 1956. Tom married Lorraine Illa on Sept. 2, 1967 in Watertown, SD. Tom worked as an Accountant for the Degree of Honor Protective Association and later for Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings where he was for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Audrey. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; children, Kim (Randy) Cochran; Jim (Julia) Metzger; Karen (Howard) Rushton; and Valerie (Troy) Tverberg; grandchildren, Kyle; Shannon (Joe); and Trey Cochran; Alex; Austin & Avery Metzger; Jordan & Thomas Rushton; Courtney; Jasmine & Bianca Tverberg; sister, Lois Jenson. Memorial Service, officiated by Reverend Percy Damrow, Sunday (4/19) 2:00 P.M. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 202 8th St W, Hastings. Private Interment at Lakeside Cemetery. Military Honors provided by VFW Lyle Russell Post # 1210.
