Thomas F. Eggert

Thomas "Tommo" Eggert, age 61 of St. Paul, died suddenly on Tuesday evening, January 4, 2022, following a short battle with congestive heart disease. Thomas Frederick, the son of Thomas and Jeannine (Eix) Eggert, was born on August 15, 1960, in St. Paul. Tom attended Hastings High School where he was an all-conference athlete. Following his graduation with the class of 1978, Tom continued his education at St. Cloud State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree. He then enrolled in William Mitchell College of Law and graduated from Hamline University with his Juris Doctor Degree. Tom was a longtime private practice attorney and specialized in tax and estate work. He was a talented woodworker, enjoyed fishing, golfing and fine cigars. Most of all, Tom lived to help others and was cherished by friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tom is survived by his sisters, Mary (Walter) Ineichen, Kathy (Bob) Schaefer, Jeanne (Rich) Luhrs, and Anne Whitson; Tom's special friend, Sue Riley; niece and nephews whom Tom adored, Elizabeth (Colin) Christenson, Bernerd (Rachael) Schaefer, Jacob (Casey) Ineichen, Christopher (Kayla) Whitson, Michael Whitson, and Tom (Cara) Schaefer; great nephew, Alexander Christenson; and by many cousins, other relatives, and good friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, with Father Matthew Shireman officiating. Interment will be held this summer when we can celebrate his life safely together. A light reception and time of fellowship will follow the mass at church. Tom's family requests all in attendance for the service wear a mask. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
