Thomas E. Frerich, age 61 of Palos Heights, Illinois, and formerly of Hastings, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday morning, January 27, 2022. Thomas Edward, the son of Ernest and Lucille (Muntifering) Frerich, was born on September 6, 1960, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Following his graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1978, Tom continued his education at University of Wisconsin - River Falls. He began working as a restaurant manager prior to his longtime career in telecommunications, first with CellNet Data Systems, then American Tower, and finally as Principle of Stockton Construction for twenty years. Tom was a very meticulous man, and always made sure his house projects were done perfectly. Tom enjoyed fixing just about anything and could use his talent, skill and vision to be a successful project manager. No matter the situation, Tom was a very generous person that built his life around his catholic faith. Most of all, Tom loved the simplicity of spending time with family and friends whenever he could. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Patricia in 1965. Tom is survived by his siblings, John (Kristie) Frerich, Robert Frerich, Pamela (Tom) Cordes, and Mary (Thomas) Scott; nieces and nephews, Jason Frerich, Ashley (Jon) Swanson, Andrew (Kate) Frerich, Chip Frerich, Kaitlin Frerich, Paul (Amanda) Cordes, Steven Cordes, Kelly Cordes, Lauren (Alec) Pahl, and Ryan Scott; his best friend, Rodney King; and by many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and to a reception immediately following the graveside service, all at church on Thursday. Tom's family would like to thank the caregivers at Living Hope Homes ~ Brent House, especially Theresa, Marta, Sam, and Haley, as well as the other staff and residents for your welcoming and caring support you provided Tom in his final journey. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
