Theodore E. "Ted" Riches Jr.

Theodore "Ted" Riches Jr., age 73 of Hastings, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Regina Medical Center, Hastings. Theodore Edward "Ted" Jr. was born in Hastings on December 15, 1942, and remained a lifelong resident. He was employed as shipping and receiving clerk with Hudson Manufacturing for several years. Ted enjoyed classic antique cars, the old-time country music, walking outdoors and socializing with those he would meet. Teds easy going nature and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Sr. and Grayce (Mumford) Riches and aunt, Frances "Tuddy" Riches. Ted is survived by his brother, Gene (Linda) Riches; sisters, Maureen (Bernie) Klein and Marilynn (Doug) Grant; nephews, Brian and Matt Riches, Steven Klein and niece Ren Klein. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 at Regina Chapel, 1175 Nininger Road, Hastings, with Fr. Thomas F. A. OBrien officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Teds family would like to send out a special "Thank You" to the wonderful staff at Tabitha Memory Care and Regina Senior Living for the exceptional care and companionship given to Ted. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimers Association.
