Sylvester C. Fox

Sylvester C. Fox, age 81, of Welch, died November 18, 2008 at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Sylvester was born January 22, 1927 in Cannon Falls Township to Alvis Louis and Marie Catherine (Hoffman) Fox. He married Jean F. Kieffer on October 27, 1948 at St. Joseph�s Catholic Church in Miesville. He had worked for Kimmes-Bartelma, Fisher, and Warwick Construction, and later retired from Cenex-Land O�Lakes. Sylvester also was an avid farmer and raised hogs and beef cattle. He liked gardening, enjoyed his family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved his Ford vehicles. Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jean in 2006; brother Francis; and sisters Ruth, Florence, and Lois. He is survived by his daughters Karen (Bob) Reinardy of New Trier and Rita Fox of Red Wing; his son Wayne (Ruth) Fox of Nisswa; also 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his sisters Patty (Ken) Meyers and Judy (Bob) Peine all of Cannon Falls; sisters-in-law Mary Fox of Florida, Alyce Kieffer of Hastings and Kathleen Kieffer of New Brighton; brother-in-law John Schaffer of Hampton. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Jay Kythe will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, November 22, 2008 at St. Joseph�s Catholic Church in Miesville with interment following in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH from 4-8PM Friday and 1 hour prior to the Saturday funeral. The pallbearers are Christopher Reinardy, Kent Reinardy, Paul Fox, Dayne Fox, Nick Meyers, and John Kieffer; honorary pallbearers are Kim Geiken, Mikinzie Fox, Jenny Lindquist, and Jaime Hennen.
