Steven L. Wical

Steven L. Wical, age 60, of Hastings, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday morning, January 2, 2022. Steven Leslie, the son of Loren and Deloryce (Diemert) Wical, was born July 15, 1961 in Seattle, WA. Following his graduation from Hastings High School in 1979, Steve continued his education at DCTC in Cable TV. Steve got his start with Triax Communications and moved on to Peoples Electric for many years, Gephart Electric and finally settled into Remington Seed in Hastings. Outside of his work, Steve loved to play golf, watch football, hockey and all sports. He read the newspaper from cover to cover every day which helped his love for Trivia & crossword puzzles. Steve adored his daughter, Stefanie, his grandson, Colton and his family. He spent many years of Stef's high school years supporting her in hockey, softball and traveling around the state to tournaments. Steve was quick-witted and had a sheepish grin with a sparkle in his eye. He is preceded in death by his father, Loren; and his brother, Don. Steve is survived by his daughter, Stefanie (fiance, Cameron); grandson, Colton; mother, Deloryce; siblings, Kelly (Nestle) Wical, Kim (Larry) Senne, Ron Wical, Kathy (Greg) Byrne, Joe (Renae) Wical; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St. in Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
