Sharon Lee Holmes

Sharon Lee Holmes Sharon L. Holmes, passed away at Augustana Care Center of Hastings on Thursday, March 21, 2019. She was previously from Eagan. Sharon always took great pride in her family, her home and loved to entertain friends and family. During her early years, Sharon worked in food service and had a passion for cooking, canning and baking. She looked forward to yearly trips to the apple orchard with her grandchildren so she could get apples to bake pies. She loved horses, life on the farm in Michigan and getting the kids involved in 4H. Sharon loved the Holidays and getting together for a meal with family. For Halloween, she would turn her yard into a huge graveyard scene and dress up for the kids. She went all out for Christmas and decorated with lights inside and out. Sharon always loved dressing up. She was the proud leader of a clown club who taught make up and costuming tips. 'Mother Sunshine' the clown helped coordinate several community events and parades. She loved dressing the kids up, painting their faces and getting the whole family involved. Sharon loved her Red Hat ladies and enjoyed wearing extravagant outfits to the events. She visited daughter Francine, son in law Scott and their family in Alaska. She went to Michigan to visit son Tracy, daughter in law Chris, and their children. She also made it to Brandon to visit her son Dan and his family. She enjoyed visiting her brother Keith, sister in law Dixie and their family in Colorado. Sharon also went on several road trips, cruises, bus tours and other trips all over the USA. Sharon was a dedicated worker at the MSP airport for over 15 years until her retirement. While working at the airport she also ran a small sewing business. She would make hundreds of custom tables clothes, drapes and other decorations for large events at the Minneapolis convention center. She will be missed by many friends and family. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Fern (nee Olson) and Herb Jacobsen. She is survived by her brother, Keith (Dixie) Jacobsen; her sister, Janeen Hollenkamp; her four children, Francine (Scott) Burnett, Daniel Holmes, Tracy (Chris) Holmes, and Jody (Shelley) Holmes. She will be missed by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
