Sharon Jean Carroll

Sharon Jean Carroll passed away peacefully at her home in Hastings on September 19th, 2016. Sharon was born to Martin and Pearl Carroll on April 28, 1953, in Hastings, MN. She grew up in Hastings and attended Guardian Angels Parochial School and later Hastings Senior High School. She was a resident of Hastings most of her life. Sharon was married to John R. Schommer on December 22, 1998 in Hastings, MN. She was employed by the Hastings Star Gazette for many years, working in the Trade Winds Distribution Department. Sharon is survived by her husband John R. Schommer. Brothers and sisters: Jim (Sandy) Carroll, David (Patti) Carroll, Mary (Bruce) Blevins, and Charlotte (Jim) Bzoskie. Also brothers-in-law: Tom (Gayle) Schommer and Joe Schommer; and sisters-in-law: Clair (Eric) Gilbertson, and Sue (Dan) Jensen; and also many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, 735 East 10th Street, Hastings, MN on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 1:00 pm. A Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour before the service. A private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
