Sharon G. Schluessler

Sharon G. Schluessler, age 68, of Woodbury and formerly of Hastings, died November 30, 2013 at University of Minnesota Fairview Riverside in Minneapolis following a lengthy illness.Sharon was born October 19, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to Emanuel and Belle (Schlossman) Greenspan. She was raised in the Detroit, MI area and came to Hastings, MN as a young woman. She was a retired chemical dependency counselor. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose family was the source of her great pride.She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Linda Schluessler in 1987 and her long time companion Robert Cathcart. She is survived by her children Liz Gronert (Aaron) of Minnetonka, Shawn Gorski (Tom) of Oakdale, MN, and Rob Schluessler (Jill) of Lakeville, MN; 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a sister Claire Finn of Michigan, a special family friend Matthew Dinzeo as well as nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank the staff at University of MN Fairview Riverside for the amazing loving care and kindness given to our mother/grandmother.A Memorial Service officiated by Gordon Gathright will be held at Noon Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Chapel, 201 Seventh St. E., Hastings with a Memorial Gathering from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Private family interment will follow.
