Sallee A. Jepsen

Sallee A. Jepsen, age 86 of Hastings, died peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, June 16, 2021. Sallee Ann, the daughter of Otto and Edna (Warner) Rippey, was born on September 4, 1934, in LeMars, Iowa. Following her graduation from LeMars High School with the class of 1952, Sallee was united in marriage to Leon "Lee" Jepsen on June 1, 1956. Sallee was a longtime teacher in various towns throughout Iowa prior to moving to Hastings in 1997. Lee preceded her in death in June of 2002. Sallee was a member of Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings where she enjoyed volunteering for many funeral lunches, as well as being the wedding coordinator for many years. She is survived by her children, Rick (Maura) Jepsen and Kristin (Tony) Porrez; five grandchildren, Steven Porrez, Michael Porrez, Matthew (Ashlee) Porrez, Bridgette Robinson and Darlene Robinson; four great grandchildren, Keyon, Sallee, Mateo, and Indie; and by other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings, with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service, and to a reception immediately following the service, all at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
