Ruth L. Swanson

Ruth L. Swanson, age 87, of Hastings died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Regina Nursing Home.Ruth was born August 28, 1925 in Castle Rock, MN to Arthur and Augusta (Lieder) Cowell. She was a graduate of Lakeville High School and had been employed locally at Smead Mfg., Intek, and Dakota County. Ruth married Harry Swanson in 1947 in South St. Paul. He died in 1980. She was a Gold Star Mother and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded by her parents; husband Harry and son Lawrence �Larry� in 1968; her twin brother and six sisters. Ruth is survived by three sons Duane (Nancy) of Hastings, Donald (Shirley) of Wyoming, MN and Len (Sandy) of Woodbury; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; also sister Gladys Soberg of Lakeville, MN. The Funeral Service, officiated by Fr. Frank VandeSteeg will be 1 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at St. Luke�s Episcopal Church, 615 Vermillion St., Hastings with visitation held two hours prior to service at the church. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. The pallbearers are Jamie, Josh and Joel Swanson, Nate Kringle, Alec and Curt Swanson.
