Rose Marie Trapp

Rose Marie Trapp, age 76, of Hastings, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at United Hospital in St. Paul following a recent illness. Rose Marie, the daughter of George and Violet (Callander) Larson, was born on January 19, 1939 in Willmar, Minnesota. Following her education in Willmar, Rose was united in marriage to Allen Trapp on August 15, 1964 in Watertown, South Dakota. She worked various jobs in local nursing homes and restaurants, but her main enjoyment was raising her family and loved getting everyone together for the holidays. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, tending to her flower gardens and feeding the birds. She was the most caring person in the world and always made sure she took care of others before herself. She was preceded in death by her parents. Rose is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Allen of Hastings; her children, Kim (June) Neal of Stillwater, John (Jeannette) Trapp of Hastings, and Jeff (Trista) Trapp of Hastings; her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Ryan, Ashley, Douglas, Emily, Luke and Christopher; and by many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East 7th St., Hastings, with Reverend Jim Bzoskie officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon- 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
