Rose Helen Meier

Rose Helen (nee Meier) Meier, age 91, of Hastings, died peacefully on December 27, 2015 at the Regina Senior Living Center in Hastings. Rose, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Beissel) Meier, was born on May 20, 1924 in Vermillion, MN. Rose was married to Laurence Meier on June 14, 1944 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings, MN. She was a proud member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in St. Paul for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Laurence, sons Michael, Wayne and Richard, brothers Joseph and Leonard, sisters Philomena Becker, Viola Sherer, Sue Cysiewski, Magdalena Fuchs and Theresa Meier. Rose is survived by her daughters Karen (Gary) Greeley, Alice (Joel) Kosbab, sons Allan (Veronica) Meier and Steven (Jill) Meier. Daughter-in-laws Mary Jo Effenberger and Carol Anderson, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, sisters Marie Fuchs and Emma Seeger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West 15th St., Hastings, MN, with Father Kevin McDonough officiating. Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery, Hastings, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 29 AT CHURCH and also one hour prior to Mass. Pallbearers are Allen, Nicholas, Christopher, Peter, Joshua and Mitchell Meier. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Sherer and Michael Meier.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
