Ronald P Langenfeld

Ronald Peter Langenfeld, of Hastings, born July 2, 1943, passed away on March 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the 8th child of 10 to Henry and Eleanor (Foss) Langenfeld. Ronald was born and raised in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School in 1961. He met Sharon Petersen in 1963 and they married on July 18, 1964. Together they purchased their first home in Hastings and raised five children together. He was in a life changing automobile accident in 1970. He had different jobs which relocated the family to Thief River Falls, MN, Sauk Centre, MN and back again to Hastings. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, gardening and spending time with his entire family and telling jokes. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis, Ralph, Loran and Stanley; sisters, Elvira, Janet, Patricia and Dorlaine; grandsons, Steven and Thomas. Ronald is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Sharon; children, Karen (Phil) Chapman of Hastings, James Langenfeld of Hastings, Sue Langenfeld of Hammond, WI, Deb Arnold of Apple Valley, Linda (Bob) Hudak of Duluth, MN; Grandchildren, Ryan (Cita Vang) Langenfeld, Daniel Chapman, Jake (Bailee Molmen) Berg, Nicole Berg, Grace Arnold, James Arnold and Max Etzler; Great-Grandchildren, Yulia, Kaylee, Blake, Avery and Baby Berg; Brother, Myron (Edie) Langenfeld of Faribault, MN A Private Service will be held for the immediate family with a public Celebration of Life to be held later this year. The Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel is helping the family.
