Ronald E. Pinke

August 2, 1943 — January 18, 2022

Ronald "Ron" Pinke, age 78, of Hastings, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2022 after a 4 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and kidney failure. While it was not unexpected, he is terribly missed by so many. Ron was born on August 2, 1943 in Hastings to Arnold and Grace Pinke and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1961. Ron served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967 where he followed in his dad's footsteps as a mechanic. After being honorably discharged, Ron worked as a machinist at American Hoist then at Northwest (Delta) Airlines until his retirement in 2005. On February 15, 1969 he married the love of his life, Gloria Siebenaler and together they had 4 awesome kids. Ron's favorite thing in life was loving his family and sharing his passions. Together, he and Gloria spent many hours teaching their kids to fish, hunt, camp, swim, love the outdoors, and love each other. In his later years, he loved spending time with his grandkids and treasured each of them in a way only a grandpa can. He loved anything sports, whether it was swimming with his kids and grandkids, golfing and bowling with his buddies, or watching the MN Twins and MN Vikings on a quiet day at home. Fishing was the name of the game for Ron, and he never turned down an opportunity to go to Canada, or Alaska, or Mille Lacs if someone was willing and able. So many of our memories and pictures find him in a boat with a fishing pole in his hand, laughing and smiling with those he loved. He was, and will always be, one of our biggest supporters. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Grace Pinke; twin brother, Donald Pinke; and father-in-law, Matt L. Siebenaler. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; children, Linda (Stephen) Resop, Jim (Christina) Pinke, Joe Pinke, and Dr. Leah (Jon) Lombardo; grandchildren, Evelyn, Sam and Jackson Resop, Hunter and Josie Pinke, Alex and Grace Lombardo; siblings, David Pinke, Mavis Bingaman and Audrey Gorny; mother-in-law, Evelyn Siebenaler; many nieces, nephews and in-laws. The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to Dr. Randy Hurley and the cancer team at Regions. They have been a Godsend to us throughout the years, and we so very much appreciate all they did for Ron and his family.
