Roger Lomker, age 80 of Rosemount, died peacefully with his wife Diane at his side on Saturday morning, October 23, 2021. Roger Frederick, the son of Fred and Kyra (McWaters) Lomker, was born on November 29, 1940, in Hastings. Following his graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1959, Roger enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years prior to being Honorably Discharged. In 1992, Roger was united in marriage to Diane (Kessel) Nixon in Webster City, Iowa. Roger was a longtime truck driver for Yellow Freight and was a proud member of Local Teamsters 120. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or gardening, Roger was an avid outdoors man. He was a talented grill master who often loved sharing his final products with others. Roger also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, and Gophers. There wasn't a subject he wasn't afraid to debate, and was always sure to tell a good joke along the way too. He and Diane were longtime members of Our Saviour Church in Rosemount where they enjoyed participating in any way they could. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tesa Hartman; and by two brothers-in-law, Dick Anderson and Gary Kessel. Roger is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Diane; children, Aaron (Kelley Boyens) Lomker, Brent (Amy) Nixon, and Sunde (Shawn) Sullivan; grandchildren, Taylor and Shelby Hartman and Cael Nixon; sister, Ardy Anderson; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Our Saviour Church, 14980 Diamond Path Road, Rosemount, with Pastor Neil Ristow officiating. Interment with Military Honors provided by the VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., and to a reception immediately following the service, all at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, Roger's family requests memorials be given to American Heart or Lung Associations, or to the donor's choice in his memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
