Roger D. Grundman

Roger D. Grundman “R.D.” Born September 7, 1921 in Faribault, MN to Luella and Earnest Grundman. He was the oldest of 3 sons. He met Victoria Kleve, the love of his life, at the roller-skating rink in Farmington, MN. They were married on January 27, 1944. He was a veteran of WWII, Europe Theatre, General Patton’s Army, 8th Armored Division and the Battle of the Bulge - “The coldest he has ever been in his life”. Roger managed the Farmington locker plant and worked at KOCH refinery and CENEX. He was a volunteer ambulance driver and fireman. He also restored and refinished furniture and did hand carving of chairs. He loved to fish and watch the deer, squirrels, and birds. He was always busy helping others. His wife Victoria of 70 years will miss him dearly as well as his five children: Roger and CJ Grundman, Patricia Grundman, Peggy Grundman, Reid Grundman and Ed Rao, and Polly and Glenn Bauer. Seven grandchildren: Kristine (Mark), Chad (Laura), Aric, Erin (Allen), Sarah (Paul), Anna (Travis), and Julia. Ten great grandchildren: Josh, Mario, Emily, Mason, Samuel, Daisy, Alex, Julia, Jace, Nicolaus and great great grandson Silas. He was preceded in death by parents Earnest and Luella, brothers Robert and Ronald, and cousin Ed. Remembering Roger should bring a smile. Dad – Your love remains with us forever. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tues. (11/11) at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings.
