Robert Schierland

Robert “Bob” Schierland, age 56, died suddenly October 10, 2017 at the University of Minnesota Hospital following a heart attack. He was born May 28, 1961 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, the son of Milton and Phyllis (Gleue) Schierland, Sr. Bob graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in 1997. Along with his brother, Bob owned and managed the Video Update in Hastings, MN from 1984 – 1990. For the past 20 years he worked in security for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Eagan, MN. Bob will be remembered for his amazingly positive attitude and fun-loving personality. Bob was caring, giving and could brighten anyone’s day with his big smile and contagious laugh. He loved to travel with Tanya, go to the gym, attend concerts, spend time with family and friends and 80’s rock! He was also passionate about football and his beloved Green Bay Packers! Bob was the most genuine man that had a knack for making everyone around him feel special and important. His family was the most important thing in the world to him, especially his daughter, fiance and her girls. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Brandie (fianc, Drew Ferderer) of Iowa City, Iowa; fiance, Tanya Peterson and her daughters, Brittany and Brianna of Hastings, MN; son, Adam Klotz of Plymouth, MN; step-daughter, Brittney (Corey Miller) Brynell and her son, Brayden of Honolulu, HI; mother, Phyllis Mocarski, of Appleton, WI; two brothers, Mitch (Melissa) Schierland of Grand Junction, CO; Paul Schierland of Appleton, WI; three sisters, Keri Hehli, Linda and Pauline Schierland of Appleton, WI; half sibling, Brian and Francine Stachoviak of Appleton, WI; Aunts, Marlene (Al) Zachman, Farmington, MN; Mary (Don) Healy of Menasha, WI; Tanya’s mother, Marlis (Robert) Tvedt; brother, Todd (Sherry) Eastgate all of Apple Valley, MN; nieces and nephews: Bailey, Ian, Khara, Briana, Marissa, Karley, Josh, Misty, Jamus, Jacob and Katie; seven great nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends. Bob was preceded in death by his father, two uncles, Vern and Don and his aunt Beula (Erv) Meka. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 4 pm at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring Street, Hastings, MN. A visitation will be from 2 pm until the time of the service, followed by a gathering at Dugarels in Hastings.
