Robert Follett

Robert Follett, age 92, passed away peacefully February 7, 2016 in Hastings, MN. Bob was born October 20, 1923 in Woodlake, MN to Ed and Minnie (Fillbrandt) Follett. He grew up in Rock Rapids, IA, joined the Navy and was stationed at Guadalcanal. After returning from the war, he married Jean Riter in Rock Rapids, IA. He then attended the University of MN, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. They lived in St. Paul, Albert Lea, MN, Chicago, Merrill, WI, New Richmond, WI and retired to Las Vegas in 1981. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Roger (Cheryl) and Lois (Forrest Korht), and his wife of 56 years, Jean M. Riter Follett. Bob is survived by his daughter, Gail (Steve) Bates of Prescott, WI, and son, Robert Follett (Linda Zacharias) of Toledo, WA; 5 grandchildren, Steve Bates (Denise Schinkoeth), Mary (Kent) Getzlaff, Diane (Oscar) Mendez, Elaine (Alex) Fordyce, Elise Follett and 8 great grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and many friends. There will be a private service and interment in Las Vegas at a later date.
