Robert F. Balitz

Robert F. Balitz, age 86, of Hastings died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at his home. Robert was born May 25, 1922 in Hastings to Robert George Mathilda Elizabeth (Bierden) Balitz. He was a graduate of Hastings High School, class of 1940, and had served in the Air Force during W.W.II as a decorated soldier. Bob married Bernice Goodrich in September of 1948, and had worked in production at 3-M for 38 years prior to his retirement.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife Bernice; son James Balitz; daughter Pattie (David �Bear�) Wagner; 3 grandchildren Kyle, Travis, and Melissa Balitz; and his brother Clarence Balitz. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Fr. Martin Siebenaler will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th Street West, Hastings, with a visitation held at the church 1 hour prior to the service.Interment with military honors provided by the Hastings V.F.W. Lyle Russell Post #1210 will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date.
