Richard T. Mortensen, age 84, of Hastings, loving husband, father, grandfather went home to the Lord on June 14, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Richard was born November 2, 1925 in St. Paul to Torvald and Jennie (Green) Mortensen. He served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII as an Army Sergeant. Richard married Corolyn Nelson on August 10, 1967 in Brainerd, and was employed as the engineering auditor for St. Paul Fire and Marine. Following his retirement at age 59, he worked at Ron Becker�s Automotive. His membership�s included the St. Paul Drum and Bugle Corps, the American Legion and V.F.W., as well as the American Safety Engineers. He loved his country and was extremely patriotic. He was preceded in death by his parents. Richard is survived by his wife Corolyn; children Kent (Lois) Mortensen of Cottage Grove, Kurt (Judy) Mortensen of North Branch, Kathleen Jost of Hastings, Kyle (Jean) Mortensen of St. Paul, and Mary (Rob) Pasch of Hampton; also loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Paris Pasch will be held at 10am Monday, June 21, 2010 at Christ�s Family Church, 518 East Second Street, Hastings with a gathering one hour prior to the service at church. The interment, with full military honors provided by the Ft. Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad, will follow at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
