Regina "Jane" Doorak

Regina "Jane" Doorak, age 88 of Hastings, died peacefully on Tuesday evening, January 5, 2021, at Regina Medical Center in Hastings. Regina Suzanna, the daughter of Isadore and Ophelia (Honl) Huberty, was born on July 28, 1932, in Hastings. Following her education, Jane was united in marriage to Del Doorak in 1953 and was blessed with five children and many memories prior to his passing in 1991. She later married Howard Biskupski and he also preceded her in death. Jane was a longtime employee at Smeads Mfg. in Hastings. She enjoyed having dinner with friends, playing cards especially euchre, and was an excellent cook. Jane was a dedicated caretaker to many, and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed volunteering with Regina Auxiliary and at Regina Memorial Chapel where she distributed communion throughout the hospital. Whether it was putting puzzles together or going for walks, Jane was always on the move. She loved cardinals and sitting in the sun with her Coppertone lotion. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Del Doorak and Howard Biskupski; brothers, Isadore, Charles, and Paul "Gus"; sisters, Midge Knoll, Dorothy Bauer, and Cheryl Murtaugh; son-in-law, Herman Leek; nephews, Terry Huberty and Dennis Murtaugh; and by her longtime friend, Tom Braun. Jane is survived by her children, Cathy Butzler, Cindy Leek, Brian (Terri) Doorak, Christina (Bill) Crotty, and Cheryl (Henry) Boudreau; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Lundberg and Rita Murphy; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice in memory of Jane. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
