Ramona L. Scott

Ramona L. (Maixner) Scott, age 83, of Hastings, MN, formerly of Salem & Hillsboro, Oregon, passed away on January 31, 2019. Ramona was born to Louie and Libby (Swartz) Maixner in Lankin, ND on December 13, 1935. She married Rutherford “Scotty” Scott on December 17th, 1954 in Salem, Oregon. They had two children, Kevin born in 1956 and Kimberly in 1958. Ramona enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always happiest when she was around family and good company. She was famous for her Christmas stockings that she spent hours meticulously making by hand for each grandchild and great-grandchild. If you married into the family you were lucky enough to get one made for you too. She liked being able to spoil her family and Christmas was always a big deal, she always made it special. Her favorite place in the world was the family cabin. She’d spend hours floating on the river, basking in the sun, and enjoying the beautiful scenery, she was truly at peace there. She now gets to be at eternal peace with our Lord and loved ones in Heaven. She will be greatly missed by many. She is preceded in death by her parents Louie and Libby Maixner; husband Rutherford “Scotty” Scott; daughter Kim Vroman; son Kevin Scott; and sister Shirley Beaulieu. She is survived by sister Connie (Jon) Moe; grandchildren Erin (Justin) Cady, Chelsea (Stephon) Wise, Halle Scott, Colton Vroman, and Collin Scott; great-grandchildren Malik and Ty Wise, Jackson and Lydia Cady; brother-in-law Gene Beaulieu; sister-in-law Phyllis Strohecker; many loving nieces and nephews; & dear friends she made throughout the years. A small memorial gathering will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 7th at Ramona’s residence.
