Py Vichaiyarath

Py Vichaiyarath Born on October 12, 1943 in Vientiane, Laos. He departed this life peacefully on December 17, 2015 at the age of 72 after a heroic fight with cancer. He is the oldest child of four. His brother has passed away but his two sisters still remain. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Py was an active member of church and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Py started working after the 6th grade to help support his family. He was a carpenter and masonry worker in Laos. He helped build houses, hospitals, schools and bridges. He did this work for 18 years until the Communists invaded his country and so he fled to Thailand. In Thailand, he met and married his wife of 46 years, Pheth Vichaiyarath. Together they have 5 children and 16 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Pheth Vichaiyarath, 5 children: Scott Vichaiyarath, Kethkeo Vichaiyarath, Prasith Vichaiyarath, Praseuth Vichaiyarath, Mas Vichaiyarath, 16 grandchildren and 2 sisters. There will be a visitation from 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, December 21, 2015 at Peace Reformed Church, 2180 Glory Drive, Eagan, MN. The funeral will take place at 2:00 PM, followed by cremation. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings, MN. Casket bearers will be Mas, Prasith, Praseuth, Scott and Zachary Vichaiyarath and Tyler Vang.
