Peter V. Beissel

Peter V. Beissel, age 66, of Hastings, passed away after a battle with cancer, on Friday, March 13, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his family.Peter was born July 13, 1942 in New Trier to Peter and Marie �Josephine� (Siebenaler) Beissel. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1964-1968. Peter was united in marriage to Diane Fuchs on June 11, 1966 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Hastings. Peter worked hard to take care of his family and recently retired from Reese Enterprises after 30 years as the Shipping and Receiving Manager. He liked a good story, and enjoyed visiting with his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John. Peter is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Andrew (Sue) Beissel, Mark Beissel, Jenny (Tim) Fleming, Melissa Beissel, and Brenda Beissel, all of Hastings; grandson, Nate Beissel; siblings, Mary (Wayne) Beard of Hager City, WI, Marcelline (Carl) Rice of Lakeville, Rose (Bob) Utz of Lakeville, Irene (Melvin) Brochman of Hampton, Donald (Virginia) Beissel of Hastings, Joe (Jeanette) Beissel of New Trier, Ben (Joan) Beissel of New Trier, and Larry (LuAnn) Beissel of New Trier. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Abraham George, will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hastings, followed by interment in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, from 4:00-8:00PM at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
