Otto Trede

Otto Trede, age 96, of Hastings passed away at Regina Assisted Living on October 9, 2011. Otto was born April 2, 1915, to Hans and Minna Trede in Hamburg, Germany. He married Kaete Batel in Hamburg, Germany on October 7, 1939. With his wife and daughter, Janet, he moved to the United States in 1953. After arriving they lived in Marengo, Forest Park and Lombard, IL. Upon retirement from his profession as a tool and die maker in 1977, Otto and Kaete moved to Leaf Lake near Henning, MN. In 1986 they moved to Hastings, MN to be near their daughter, Janet, and her family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Kaete; his parents; sister, Dora; brothers, Willy and Hans; sisters-in-law, Hildegard Trede and Hildegard Woller; brothers-in-law, Herbert Woller and Erich Sittart; and niece, Ingrid. He is survived by daughter, Janet (Neil) Misegades of Hastings; grandchildren, Todd of Hastings and Lara of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Carmen Sittart of Germany; nephews, Rudolf (Ingrid) Trede, Hans-Joachim (Jutta) Trede, Horst Woller and Heiner (Ute) Woller all of Germany. A private Memorial Service, with Gordon Gathright officiating, will be held Friday (10/14) at Wise Family Funeral Home in Hastings. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.
