Olivia A. Sturm

Olivia Agnes (Berget) Sturm, age 95 passed away October 3, 2013 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Olivia was born April 2, 1918 in Roslyn, South Dakota to Oscar and Alice (Sorenson) Berget. She married Orville Henry Sturm on August 22, 1938 in Watertown, SD and through their union had five children, Faye, Dean, Joy, Terry and Sandy. Besides being a fine homemaker, she had worked as a school cook for Hancock, MN schools. Orville and Olive lived in Andover, Hancock and Alexandria before retiring in Hastings, MN. Olive loved to fish, camp, play cards with her grandkids, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Olive will be remembered by her kind and generous spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Orville; son Terry, grandsons Cory and Chad Greiner; four brothers, Hilmer, Benford, Orville and Maurice; three sisters, Susie, Carol and Bernice. Olivia is survived by her four children, Faye (Gordy) Greiner, Dean (Gladys) Sturm, Joy (Lloyd) Greiner, and Sandy (Dick) Greiner; also 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The Memorial Service, officiated by Gordon Gathright will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 9 at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria, located at 2210 Sixth Avenue East in Alexandria, MN. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in Kinkead Cemetery.
