Norene A. Lundwall

Norene Ardis Lundwall, daughter of the late Ward and Margaret (Backstrom) Lundwall, was born November 23, 1949, and died peacefully at home with family on March 8th, 2019. Norene attended public schools in Kingsford, Michigan, St. Paul and St. Paul Park, Minnesota, graduating third in her class from Park High School in 1967. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelors Degree in Economics, and her Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul. Norene worked over 30 years for 3M in Administrative Services. She was a member of and volunteer for the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. She belonged to Dalaforening, and was a member of the Vasa Order of America, District Lodge 7, Minnesota District and served as auditor, lodge secretary, vice chairman and lodge chairman. In Minnesota District No 7, she has served as auditor, cultural leader, vice district master and most recently as district manager. Norene traveled to Sweden over 30 times where she lived with her cousin Torsten Guth and his family. Norene and Ninni Guth traveled often together to many parts of the world. She loved all things Swedish, cooking and baking wonderful traditional Swedish meals and desserts were her passion over the years. Norene is survived by sister, Nancy Reis, and brother Douglas (Christine) Lundwall; nieces Cheryl (Michael) Malluege, Christine (John) Eliasson and nephews Robert (Susan) Reis, Randall (Patricia) Reis, Andrew (Jill) Lundwall and Dane Lundwall; great-nieces Germaine Longenbach, Suzanne (Daniel) Ward, Ryan Reis, Monika (Shane) Kleinschmidt, Katrina (Pat Green) Malluege, Joanna (Jon) Lewis, Justine Eliasson, and Riana Reis; great-nephews Christopher (Kacie Salada) Malluege, Erick (Brittany) Malluege, Tyler Warren, Rylie Reis, Jared Eliasson and Avi Lundwall. A Celebration of Norene's Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at The Harbor Church, 11125 Pt. Douglas Drive South, Hastings, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service, a reception will also be held at church. Private family interment will be held at Union Cemetery in Maplewood. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
