Michael "Mike" Schaack

Michael J. �Mike� Schaack, age 97 of Hastings died November 27, 2012 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Mike was born November 14, 1915 in New Trier to John and Mary (Endres) Schaack. He married Viola Zimmerman on September 8, 1943 in Miesville and was a retired 3M employee. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Richard; grandchildren Lisa Kaminski and David Schaack; step grandson Mark Tate; brothers Joseph, Mathias and Nick; sisters Helen, Marie and Anna. Mike is survived by his wife Viola �Vi�; children Barbara (Dave) Kaminski of Bloomington, Ken Schaack of FL, Patricia (Dale) Sleiter of WI, Maggie (Skip) Hicks and Ron (Kathy) Schaack of Hastings, Jerry (Rosie) Schaack of Cannon Falls, Steve (Cindy) Schaack of Hastings, Denny (Barb) Schaack of Maple Grove, Janelle (Paul) Tinucci of Inver Grove Heights; daughter-in-law Rose Schaack of Roseville; also 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. James Perkl will be held 11 AM Friday, November 30, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings with visitation 2 hours prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Jim Hicks, Brett Kaminski, Dan Schaack, Mike Schaack, Nate Sleiter, Mathew Sleiter and Brian Schaack; honorary pallbearers are Francis Rego, Frances Rego, Irene Serres, Barb Tinucci and Gene Tinucci. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hastings Family Service.
