Michael J. Warner

Michael J. Warner, age 60, of Hastings died Sunday, August 10, 2014 after a brief illness. Michael was born August 11, 1953 in Hastings to Cecil and Marguerite (St. Martin) Warner. He attended Hastings Schools, graduating with the class of 1971. Mike was an avid boater and thought of the river as his second home. He also loved hunting, fishing and bowling. Mike married Karen Chilson January 3, 1976 at St. Boniface Church in Hastings. Mike is preceded in death by his father Cecil and his mother Marguerite Hawkins. He is survived by his wife Karen; 4 children Michelle (Scott) Nelson of Duluth, Kristin Warner of Hastings, Nicki Warner of Rochester, MN and Jacob Warner (Steph Hastreiter) of Hastings; 7 grandchildren Blake, Kylee, Victoria, Ryan, Brayden, Anders and Graham; brothers sisters Bill (Mary) Warner of Ottertail, MN, Steve (Cindy) Warner of Eden, WI, Mary Vogel of Cottage Grove, Jeanne (Lyle) Young of Hayward, WI, Kent (Christy) Warner of Welch, MN, Brent Warner (Nikki Tredup) of Red Wing; his step mother Joan Warner of Hastings; mother-in-law Leona Chilson of Hastings and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass with Fr. Cole Kracke officiating, will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 16, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral at church.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
