Matthew G. Towey, a Saint Paul Fire Captain and World War II US Navy Veteran, age 91, of Hastings, formerly of Saint Paul, passed away August 14, 2018. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Elinor Lang. Matt is survived by his lady friend, Dubie (Dorothy) Swanson; children, Mike Towey; Ellen Speak; Kathleen Towey; Mary Postiff; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed by all. A private gathering at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be held on August 20, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. Close friends and relatives are welcome to gather at assembly area #5.
