Mary "Katy" Schweich

Mary �Katy� Schweich, age 84, of New Trier died April 12, 2010 at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Mary was born March 27, 1926 in Douglas Township to Marcus and Ursula (Shannon) Serres and was a 1944 graduate of Hastings High School. She married Ralph Schweich on October 26, 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers John and Marcus �Bud� Serres. Mary is survived by her husband Ralph; children David (Sandy) of Miesville, Stephen (Yong Ae) of Tacoma, WA, Ann (Keith) Gesme of Cannon Falls, Mary Schweich of Inver Grove Heights, Joseph (Vickie) of New Trier, Kathleen (Luis) Lopez of Maplewood, and Pam (Nick) Peine of New Trier; also 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; siblings Betty Lou (Arnold) Werner of Vermillion, Tim (Carol) Serres of Hastings, Dick (Diane) Serres of Hastings, Bob (Elaine) Serres of Red Wing, Fred Serres of Hastings,Roseann Reinardy of Hastings,Patricia (Dave) Troestler of AZ; sister-in-law Arlene Serres of TX. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Stan Mader will be held 10:30am Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in New Trier,followed byinterment in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be from 4-7pm Thursday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings and 1 hour prior to the Friday service at the church. The pallbearers are Josh Peine, Aaron Peine, Mark Gesme, Michelle Schweich, Ray Werner, and Gerv Fox.
